+Google Search Application for S60 3rd Devices

Google Search Application for S60 3rd Devices

Google ft. NokiaI know I am a little bit late on this one, but I’ve just came back from the office and it was pretty hectic there today, I just couldn’t found enough time to port it from the forum section to the front page.

Anyway, our member Mauikek that is running a small Italian Symbian Blog has found a brand new application.

Google's native Symbian S60 search client and he posted it over at our forum section early this morning, and in the mean time it appeared on the AAS, IntoMobile and many other mobile blogs as well.

In short, Google search is simple but yet powerful application that adds a shortcut to a Google search box on the standby screen that can be activated by the pencil key. Once activated you can simply type into popup box and search for certain queries and the application will automatically connect to the Internet, perform the search, and finally display the results for the required query using the s60 defualt safari web browser.

By Google this small application allows you to find exactly what you are looking for by searching through Google's entire index of web and mobile web pages and they’ll adapt the pages for your device's smaller screen size, or you can choose from options to search classic, which will bring back the exact same results as what it would if you searched for the same keyword using the PC web browser.

How to share locked programs on you phone!

YOU NEED A MEMORY CARD ENABLED PHONE!!
Hi I got a SE W810i and all of my apps and games gets locked when I install them on the phone! Well how am I then supposed to share them with my friends?? Well it's pretty easy actually. All you need is MobyExplorer. Doesn't matter if it's ******* bought or in tryal. I used v3.0 the ******* version. So what you need to do is:

Move the app you want to unlock to your memory card or this won't work (atleast on my phone).

Then you start moby explorer. Go to disk e:/ (well on my phone thats the Memory Card). Then you will see theese maps DCIM/, MP3/, MSSEMC/. DCIM is where you camera stores you pictures. MP3 well I think you know. And MSSEMC is where all other things on you phone is stored.

So open up MSSEMC/ and move on to System/. Almost there!! .

Open up ams/ and there we go!! All of your apps and games should be there if you've done this correctly.

Så go to you program that you want to share AND REMEMBER THAT THE NAME OF THE PROGRAM YOU WANT TO SHARE HAS TO END ON .jar OR .SIS. But I don't got a Symbian (.sis) enebled so I guess it goto look like that.

The you you press menu, goto edit, then copy. Leave the menu and goto the other tab where it says "no conn". Press "connect" in the menu and then "connect local". You will then be in the folder where we started. Browse e:/ or c:/ doesn't matter. But if you browse e:/ do like this:

Goto e:/, then MSSEMC/, and then Media files/, then other/. Then you goto go into the menu again and press edit, then paste. And you can share the install program!!! All you goto do now is go to you leave MobyExplorer and goto your "other" map in you SE menu and there it should be you install program ready to be shared!

But If you choose to browse c:/ do like this:

Browse c:/ in MobyExplorer, then browse "other". Paste it there and your done.
All you goto do now is go to you leave MobyExplorer and goto your "other" map in you SE menu and there it should be, your install program ready to be shared!

Please give me feedbacks on this tutorial!

Font Viewer

FontViewer

FontViewer is a small freeware tool that displays all fonts available on a Symbian powered phone (S60 and UIQ version is avialable).

This is quite useful when developping new fonts and checking that they are correctly loaded by the font and bitmap server or just to check which fonts are available on which device.

Note: The Install Font function of the option menu does currently nothing. The small popup that comes to confirm the installation of a new font is just a fake message

Mp3 Editor for S60 3rd Edition Phones

MP3 EditorWell it is not a fully feathered sound editor but it still allows you to edit mp3 songs right on your phone. Actually Mp3 Editor for S60 devices provide the very basic functionality and only allows cutting and joining the mp3 tracks.

I am pretty sure that your phone is full of cool songs that you would like to use as the ring tones but you can’t because of the boring and long intro or not the very attractive beginning. In a matter of fact in most situations you would like to use just a refrain but you are just too lazy do it on PC or you don’t have necessary tools.

With Mp3 Editor you’ll not need a PC at all, you can extract refrain from the track and create music ring tones directly on your mobile phone in a few simple steps. Even cooler, you can mix different tones (bitrate has to be the same) to get some cool effects.

The application is developed in Python and of course requires the latest version for proper work. As usually, more info over at our forum section ;o)
